A distinctive, contagious flavor.
These were my first experience with goji berries. I stumbled upon them while researching dried fruit to enhance trail mixes, and noticed that goji have far more protein than other berries, so I ordered a pound. Theyâre crazy nutritious, to boot.While most such small fruit â grapes, cherries, plums, etc. â dry to a nondescript brownish black, these retain a vivid reddish orange color, consistent with Viva Naturalâs accompanying photos. And truth is, I can hardly taste the difference between raisins and dried cherries, while these have a distinct, vivid flavor. Kind of musky and tart and sweet, with an aftertaste that left me craving more. So much for the trail mix; I ate most of them straight out of the bag.I sometimes toss orange peels into the pot to enhance tea, so I tried some dried gojis in that role, too, and the taste boost was brilliant. They also all but dissolved, which surprised me, given their chewy texture when consumed sans hot water. But protein in my tea? Yes, please!My second order was for two pounds. Fingers crossed thereâll be some left over for the trail mix next time.

Bad gogi berry
I one star and believe me these berries shouldn’t even get that.I researched many different gogi very products and read hundreds of reviews, not to mention videos on product. I decided to buy viva naturals, specifically because they said they were soft and chewy. NOT, these are hard, crunchy , rock hard. Not at all what they should be . The flavor isn’t the best or the freshest. I have been eating gogi berries for 20 years or so. So I know what a dried gogi berry should be. I’m very disappointed. I hope this is bad isn’t an example of how every bad is. But unfortunately I will never find out as I will not be buying another bag with this company and I’m gonna ask for a return or a replacement. As maybe the poor quality of this bag is a rarity. I don’t know , but this bag is awful.. price is wonderful for the amount but when you consider the quality of the product that I received, than it’s not a good price,, I’ll take quality and pay more for better quality. But I do hope this was just a fluke,one time thing as I was so excited when I first ordered. I know dried as texture, but not supposed to be hard as rocks and very very very bitter. Like I said I’ve been eating for years and never had any like this. Thank you and I am sorry I had to leave such a bad review
