    Very nice, just don’t over-cook
I cooked up the bag of “beef” slices in two batches. I haven’t found a recipe that says how long to cook them, so I’ve been experimenting. The first batch I rehydrated for 30 minutes and then cooked for two and a half minutes in the microwave at full power with some of the water that I had rehydrated the slices in. They were tough as could be.So I experimented, taking the cooked slices and cooking them at half power for 10 minutes and in a barbecue sauce, hoping that, like beef from a cow, they would break down after low temp slow cooking. But they were just as tough after that. So I refrigerated them, and after they were chilled, sliced them very thin against the grain, and reheated them. They were acceptable. The second batch was rehydrated for 30 minutes in vegetable stock and then frozen. Once frozen, I sliced them against the grain and cooked them for 2 minutes on full power in the microwave. They came out tender! It would be so very helpful if cooking times and temps and recipes were available on the web, and or the back of the bag. Other than that, I think this product is just wonderful. Definitely has the mouth-feel of meat and, with the right amount of cooking, the tenderness of a round steak. Perfectly useful for recipes that don’t require the meat to be heated for a long time.

    Amazing vegan beef!
I gave up meat some 25 years ago and I don’t miss it, but it’s nice to be able to make the meals I used to eat growing up for my family. I can’t really say how beef like the taste is, but the texture is really good, it tastes amazing, it’s very low calorie and completely cruelty free. I softened it in boiling water and cooked in a sauce (vegan Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, liquid smoke, toasted sesame oil, ginger, date sugar, chili flakes, chopped garleek). I will be purchasing more, I wish they had bulk option.

The texture look like steak and the taste as well.
I used this product to make pepper steak, and it turned out amazing.

    Delicious find for a vegan!
This is ready in about 10-15 minutes of soaking in warm water. Once I squeeze the excess water out it is perfect for banh mi, stir fry, pad Thai, ramen, you name it. The texture is fantastic and the closest I have come to beef without any weird smell or sponginess. Thank you for such a great pantry product!

    I love this product
Great for many dishes. I soak them, squeeze out the extra water and use them for many different dishes. I usually cut them in half or sometimes I will dice them smaller and use for tacos or burritos.

My item ingredient had cacao powder!! That’s not what I paid forever
0 is my rating…The ingredients were not the same .. taste awful .. I’m vegan and this is not edible

    Fool your friends!
This is one of the best TVP on the market. I have been vegan for 5+ years and use a variety of meat alternatives. This one is super easy to prepare and maintains excellent beef-like texture. Some dehydrated TVP take care to prevent getting too soggy or simply have a mushy texture. This TVP holds a solid consistency and absorbs the flavors perfectly. I cook this up in a wok (with vegetable oil) after marinating for 20 minutes in tamari, mushroom powder, turmeric, garlic, nooch and sometimes Liquid Smoke. The flavor is so close to beef, my friends can’t believe it’s vegan!
