We have heard that carbs are not that great for us unless we are athletes. Part One explains why there is a huge benefit to our health by having a low carb diet. There is much beneficial information in Part 1, but what I found most helpful was the breaking down of the difference between a good carb and a bad carb. To me it was valuable to be able to see an entire week of a meal plan that incorporated low-carbs. I had always been afraid of injesting too many carbs but when I read and saw visually the low carbs, I knew immediately that I would begin adding them on my plate right alongside the protein. Part 2 in this book, is all about the recipes that include the low carbs. By following these easy recipes, you lower your intake of carbs which can result in health benefits such as not craving sugar like you used to or helping you to not feel tired or even with long term benefits like lowering your blood pressure. We all know that breads, pastas, contain carbs and so we stay away from them. However, sugar and starches are high in carbs too. This book goes into the scientific explanation of why starting a low-carb diet will spark your internal combustion to want fewer calories and controlling your hunger. It is well reading this, just to understand what carbs do to the inside of your body. The scientific breakdown of how carbs work in your body and the effects they have on overweight people, is of huge importance to read and understand especially if you suffer from diabetes. So passing up the bread and the dessert may be way more helpful than you think. I highly recommend this book for all people whether you need to lose weight or not.
